YOUR TASK



Your company has been appointed to be a major distributor of a renowned branded watch, "XXXXXX”. Your company has also been given the exclusive distributorship in Singapore. As there are many other branded, famous and renowned watches in Singapore, your Marketing Director has given you the task to develop a marketing plan to grow its market share and study the feasibility of the business. You have to be aware of the micro and macro environments in which your company operates in.  Your task is to select and analysis the environment, and market in an up-market environment. You need to develop and formulate a proper marketing plan and identify the best marketing strategies to gain market share. Your group is to analyze the market environment, SWOT analysis and show your strategy with an Ansoff’s grid with recommended solutions to the problems identified. 


In the report, your group should clearly communicate to the company on your marketing strategy, findings, analysis and recommendations. The suggested solutions must be original.


This assignment will give you an opportunity to put into practice your understanding and knowledge of developing marketing strategy and planning. Each group is encouraged to relate or apply concepts learnt from the module to their report. The assignment will also demonstrate your keen sense of observation of the marketplace and proposals in handling marketing issues and show how it could be resolved.

INSTRUCTIONS


You will be divided into groups of 3-4 and provide a report of 2000 words excluding tables, charts, diagrams and appendices. It must be submitted by Mar 2012. This assignment will take up 20% weightage of your examination. Your lecturer will guide you in the preparation of your project. You need to use the proper referencing system in your report. 


You will be evaluated based on the following:


Report:  

a)  Format, organization and content sequence.                                -           10%
b)  Originality, style, use of illustrations & graphs, and clarity.   -           10%


Application

a)  Analysis of findings and interpretations.                                       -             20%
b)  Application of marketing concepts.                                                 -            20%


Recommendation

Recommendation, proposed marketing plan and budget
Establish objectives, strategies, and action plan.                            -             40%
